Sweet Treat Recipe for Every Occasion…

Whether it's a family gathering, a baby shower, a christening, or simply an excuse to celebrate, I'm often asked to whip up my super quick and easy flapjack. This delicious treat pairs perfectly with your favorite hot drink, and the best part? Store it in a tin, and it will stay fresh all week—if you can resist eating it all, that is!

Ingredients:

  • 500g organic rolled oats

  • 4 heaped tablespoons of golden syrup

  • 300g unsalted Yorkshire butter

  • 340g demerara sugar

  • ½ tin of condensed milk

Utensils:

  • 1 sharp knife

  • 1 wooden spoon

  • 1 tablespoon

  • 1 large pan

  • 1 tin opener

  • 1 baking tin

  • Greaseproof paper

Instructions:

  1. In a large pan, combine the butter, sugar, and syrup. Gently heat while stirring continuously.

  2. Once the mixture has melted into a gooey, golden-brown consistency, stir in half a tin of condensed milk.

  3. Remove the pan from the heat, add the rolled oats, and mix well until fully combined.

  4. Pour the mixture into a lined baking tin and spread it evenly.

  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 12 minutes.

  6. Allow the flapjack to cool, then slice it into squares.
